Old Charter is a brand from Buffalo Trace, using the same mash bill as Buffalo Trace and Eagle Rare (a low rye recipe). The nose opens with soft caramel and ripe berries before easing into a palate layered with vanilla and maple syrup, rounded and comforting. As it lingers, oak takes the lead alongside cocoa tones, cracked pepper, and a long, steady finish that reminds you this is a patiently crafted straight bourbon. Bottled at 95 proof or 47.5% ABV, it carries richness without overwhelming heat.
