Plantation Rums have been on our shelves for a while and are something a bit different from standard Caribbean Rums. Plantation is owned by Alexander Gabriel who also owns Maison Ferrand, a cognac producer. Gabriel enjoys the terrior of his products and this is where the name Plantation comes from - it is a nod to their core range of rums being terrior driven, from individual islands.

Gabriel spends several months a year in the Caribbean looking for the best barrels of rum. Once these rums have been aged appropriately on the islands he transports them to France’s Cognac region. He then ages them in Ferrand casks for an additional year or so.

Unlike many spirits with their secrecy, Ferrand has nearly all questions answered about their spirit on their website. This transparency is rare and lets the consumer’s curiosity be fulfilled.
