Using a Deidrich 12 kilo roaster, we roast each coffee individually to bring out the subtle characteristics of each varietal. The roasting process is integral to producing a savory cup of coffee. At lighter roasts, the coffee will exhibit more of its origin flavor. These flavors are created in the bean by the soil and weather conditions of the location where it was grown. Coffee beans from famous regions like Kenya, Hawaii, and the Jamaican Blue Mountains are usually roasted lighter so their signature characteristics dominate the flavor. In darker roasts, the roast flavor is so dominant that it can be difficult to distinguish the origin of the beans. These coffees are sold by the degree of roast and include French Roast and European Blend.
Some purveyors of coffee dark roast all of their beans to hide defects and flaws in the beans. We believe each coffee should be roasted individually-- either light, medium or dark to unlock its ultimate flavor potential.
The sheer quantity of varieties of coffee can be rather overwhelming, but we have a coffee to please every palate. You will be pleasantly surprised at how quickly you learn to differentiate between varieties so that you can soon recognize your favorites.
If you enjoy flavored coffee, we have a large selection along with a myriad of seasonal flavors. We also have several varieties of decaffeinated regular and flavored coffees. We only use beans decaffeinated using the Swiss Water Process. This process uses nothing but water and carbon filters, so your coffee is free of harsh chemicals.
We have four selections of coffee brewed each day, including a flavored and a decaffeinated choice. We also have a full menu of espresso drinks, chai, tea, cocoa and fruit smoothies for your pleasure.
